MYZONE will cut the number of fare bands from 25 to five on rail, from five to three on buses and from five to two on ferries.It affects people in Sydney up to Newcastle and the Hunter region, to the west as far as Bathurst and to the south as far as Goulburn and Bomaderry.MyZone tickets will be accepted on the entire CityRail, State Transit and Sydney Ferries networks, as well as all private bus services and the Stockton ferry.MyMulti tickets will also allow travellers to buy one ticket, called a MyMulti, which allows travel on bus, ferries and trains, with three different options available, depending on the types of transport used. MyMulti tickets will be offered for weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual travel with a maximum cost of $57 per week, although that does not include the airport rail line which can only be used if an additional fee is paid.All current tickets will remain valid until June 30, 2010.Longer term tickets such as CityRail FlexiPasses or Quarterly/Yearly Travelpasses can be used until they expire, or exchanged for an equivalent MyMulti ticket.Tickets eligible for an exchange or refund include TravelTens and FerryTens. If some trips on TravelTen bus tickets have been used, and you still have remaining trips by June 30, you can request single tickets in exchange for each remaining journey.Rail FlexiPasses/TravelPasses longer than 28 days can be used until they expire, or a refund or exchange provided on the remaining value of the ticket.Unused Travelpasses can be refunded or exchanged for a MyZone ticket of equivalent value. Prepaid single ride bus tickets can be refunded or exchanged for a ticket of equivalent value.Partially used tickets of less than 28 days (such as monthly TravelPasses or RailPasses up to 28 days) will not be refunded or exchanged, as they will have reached their expiry by June 30.The government says refund forms and assistance will be available from train stations, from MyZone Information Booths, Sydney Buses Transit Shops, online at MyZone, CityRail or Sydney Buses websites, at ticket office windows, at retailers displaying MyZone PrePay signage and at Wharf 4 at Circular Quay.There is no change to the current $2.50 Pensioner Excursion Ticket travel benefit or the free school passes.Full details at:
